Village Projects:
Oscar Wilde banners
Part of the Village’s ongoing public art campaign, the Oscar Wilde series of banners will update and refresh the building that’s home to Aziz and Company, Wilde’s and Thimblecakes at the corner of Bank and Gilmour Streets.
A set of six 6′ tall banners, each banner will feature an archival photograph of Wilde along with an inspirational quote. The banners are designed so that each one features a different colour from the rainbow flag, and will be hung in order from red to purple. As part of the installation, a set of faded and worn painted angel murals will be removed from the front façade and the area will be freshly painted. Look for the banners to be hung sometime in summer 2011.
