Village Projects

The first two rainbow flags installed by the Village are located at
Bridgehead Coffeehouse on the corner of Bank and Gilmour Streets
The Village is working on a number of projects—some with a clear completion date, other ongoing—that help identify and define the Village area. These projects directly benefit businesses and organizations in the area, and the community that lives, works and plays in the Village and beyond.
Some projects increase the visibility of existing queer-run or -friendly businesses and organizations in the Village supporting them and also encouraging growth for new businesses and services to become available. Other projects are public art projects, which “plant our roots” in the Village and celebrate and honour our history, heroes, culture, diversity and community. All these projects are equally important to make Ottawa a safer, more exciting place for us to enjoy.
